Highly experienced in movies and drama, Christian has worked in Sound from the ground up. Christian graduated from the prestigious Bournemouth Film School in 1999 where he studied Sound for Film. Christian acquired hands on experience of the fundamental and advanced analogue and digital, production, and post production techniques, covering the equipment and, workflows which were rapidly developing at that time.
A keen adventurer, Christian has worked around the globe, and readily embraces working alongside the talents of local sound personnel employed in the team. Having worked in all kinds of challenging environments, locations including the Arctic (Al Jazeera TV documentary), The Namibian desert (20th Century Fox movie, Flight of The Phoenix ), Soweto township in Johannesburg (Documentary of the pop band The Kaiser Chiefs), also Malta, Australia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Mexico on Troy starring Brad Bitt, as well as Los Angeles, and Europe.
In March 2020 Christian was nominated and won the prestigious Cinema Audio Society Award, for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for Phoebe Waller Bridge’s, highly acclaimed, second season, of Fleabag. The ceremony was held in Los Angeles. Christian attended the ceremony and accepted in person.
A performing singer songwriter himself, Christian is always keen to work with music in film; including Catherine Tate’s musical ensemble prison comedy; Hard Cell, also Johnny Rhys Meyer’s portrayal of Joe Strummer in the biopic movie about The Clash, London Town recording many performances live.
Christian also worked with director, Julien Temple on his epic documentary Glastonbury, in summer 2002, covering the concerts, bands and acts with AAA access interviewing such legends as James Brown, Sugar Hill Gang and The Happy Mondays. Also theatrically released White Diamond: A Personal Portrait of Kylie Minogue, shot following her Australia and UK comeback tour.
Christian is an active member of The Assoication of Motion Picture Sound in the UK and The Cinema Audio Society in the USA. He is also a voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
